Ko youtube postane življenjski svetovalec

»Najprej sem mislila, da se mu je zmešalo,« prizna Jen, ko se spominja dneva, ko ji je Justin predlagal življenje na morju. In roko na srce – kdo ne bi? Štirje otroci, nič jadralskih izkušenj in ideja, da postaneš morski volk, po le nekaj videih na spletu.

Družina je odletela v otoško karibsko državo Grenado, opravila desetdnevno usposabljanje in hop – nova realnost. Fantje so se na ladji hitro počutili kot doma. Seveda pa ni bilo vse kot na razglednicah. Posoda se pomiva ročno, perilo se suši na vetru, ko ni v bližini trgovine z živili, pride na vrsto kreativnost (ali pa zelo zanimive kombinacije obrokov). Ampak stroški so padli za 75 odstotkov. Kar pomeni, da gre manj denarja za pohištvo, a več za sončne zahode. Poštena menjava.

Otroci? Šola še vedno obstaja, le da zdaj traja uro ali dve na dan, učilnica pa ima razgled, ki ga ne more pričarati noben projektor. Oče učitelj je očitno investicija, ki se je dolgoročno izplačala.

Življenje brez rezervnega načrta

Čeprav se vse sliši kot popoln pobeg od vsakdanjega stresa, priznavajo, da ni vedno lahko. Nevihte, tehnične težave in omejen prostor hitro pokažejo, da romantika na vodi ni samo zgodba na instagramu. Vsaka napaka se čuti bolj intenzivno, vsak uspeh pa tudi. A prav v tem vidijo največjo vrednost. Naučili so se sodelovanja, potrpežljivosti in – kar je morda najpomembnejše – kako biti skupaj brez nenehnega hrupa vsakdana. Brez nakupovalnih centrov, prometnih konic in občutka, da nekam zamujajo.
