Na letališčih so varnostniki vajeni marsičesa. Pozabljenih  plastenk, prevelikih  tub zobne paste in občasno potnika, ki v ročni prtljagi odkrije škarje, za katere je bil prepričan, da jih je že zdavnaj izgubil. Tokrat  jih je presenetila precej bolj nenavadna kombinacija – kovinska ovratnica in lisice.

Za nenavadno zgodbo stoji 38-letni Bradley Rivers iz avstralskega Brisbana. Ta s partnerico Sarah Button živi v razmerju, ki temelji na prostovoljno dogovorjeni dinamiki dominacije in podrejenosti. Bradley nosi kovinsko ovratnico kot simbol svoje predanosti partnerici, zato je ne sname niti med potovanji.

Varnostniki opravili temeljit osebni pregled

To se je izkazalo za precej drzno odločitev, ko sta se odpravila na letališče. Varnostni skener je najprej opozoril na nekaj sumljivega v prtljagi – izkazalo se je, da gre za lisice. Med dodatnim pregledom  so uslužbenci opazili še kovinsko ovratnico okoli Bradleyjevega vratu. Ko so ga vprašali, ali jo lahko sname, je sledil odgovor, ki ga verjetno ne slišijo vsak dan. Bradley je pojasnil, da ovratnico nosi ves čas kot simbol svojega podrejenega položaja v razmerju in da je brez posebnega razloga ne odstranjuje. Varnostniki so po kratkem pojasnilu situacijo sprejeli precej mirno, opravili temeljitejši pregled in se prepričali, da kovinski modni – oziroma osebni – dodatek ne predstavlja nobene nevarnosti. Dogajanje seveda ni ostalo neopaženo. Drugi potniki so radovedno opazovali prizor, čeprav, kot pravi Bradley, nihče ni zbral poguma za vprašanje, kaj pravzaprav gledajo.

Na plaži iskala ključek za ovratnico

Če se komu zdi, da je bila to največja nevšečnost, ki jo je paru povzročila ovratnica, se moti. Med nedavnim obiskom plaže sta namreč izgubila ključ zanjo. Namesto romantičnega sprehoda ob morju sta se vrnila domov po detektor kovin, nato pa  na plažo v lov za izgubljenim ključkom. Ovratnico bi sicer lahko preprosto prerezala, a če obstaja možnost, da se izogneš rezanju kovine okoli vratu, je detektor kovin precej logična izbira.

Bradley pravi, da se je radovednih pogledov že zdavnaj navadil. Ovratnica pritegne pozornost skoraj vsak dan, vendar negativnih odzivov po njegovih besedah ni veliko. Podporo ima tudi doma – njegova mama naj bi mu preprosto dejala, da je zanjo najpomembnejše, da je srečen in varen.
