Kinloch Castle on the Island of Rum in Scotland is on the market for a new owner who could put the money required into fixing up the crumbling castle. With a nominal value of just £1, this is an extremely rare opportunity to take ownership of a 120-year-old castle that Prince Charles himself has been passionate about saving. Repairs on the crumbling turreted red-sandstone house are estimated at an eye-watering £20 million to restore the castle to it's former glory. A private individual or a charity, foundation or private company who can provide such an amount for the castle repairs are in with a chance of owning the incredible house. 20 spalnic, plesna dvorana in knjižnica – grad Kinloch na Škotskem izpolnjuje vse želje, stal pa naj bi manj kot milijon evrov. A vendar ima nepremičnina nekaj posebnosti.

Kdor si lahko privošči vsaj 775.000 funtov (nekaj manj kot 900.000 evrov), lahko sanja: na Škotskem se prodaja grad, ki bi bil popolno prizorišče za kriminalko Agathe Christie, piše ZDFheute.

Škotska pomeni slikovite obale, pokrajine z jezeri in barji. Na severu se razteza neokrnjeno višavje, na jugu pa nižavje z nežno valovitimi griči.

Grad Kinloch stoji na otoku Rum, ki je del Notranjih Hebridov ob škotski obali. Luksuzna posest, zgrajena na prelomu 19. in 20. stoletja, je obdana s sedmimi hektarji zemlje in ponuja plesno dvorano, biljardnico, knjižnico, sedem formalnih salonov in 20 spalnic.Foto: Profimedia

Glavni vhod s širokim kamnitim stopniščem

»Do glavnega vhoda vodi široko kamnito stopnišče z obokanimi verandami,« piše v opisu na spletni strani nepremičninske agencije Savills.

Na nedatirani fotografiji iz letaka, ki jo je objavila revija NatureScot, je vidna ena od sob gradu Kinloch na otoku Rum. Skozi ta veličasten hodnik bo lahko kmalu stopil vsak, ki bo imel dovolj denarja.

V gradu se nahaja tudi redek orkestrion – glasbeni avtomat, ki ga je izdelalo nemško podjetje Imhof & Mukle.

Prodajalci pričakujejo velike naložbe

Seveda pa grad prinaša več kot zgolj čar zgodovine: sedanji lastnik, škotski organ za ohranjanje narave NatureScot, pričakuje, da bo novi lastnik v zaščiteno stavbo vložil znatna sredstva. Potencialne kupce bodo prosili, naj pojasnijo, kako nameravajo grad uporabljati v korist narave, trajnosti, kulture in gospodarstva otoka Rum.

Poleg tega je posest precej oddaljena. Do gradu je mogoče priti z redno trajektno linijo iz Mallaiga, majhnega mesta na zahodni obali Škotske. Na otoku, kjer ni avtomobilov, živi približno 40 prebivalcev, še navaja ZDFheute.
